We have a press secretary

For the journos out there, the key contacts in the mayor's press office are Press Secretary Joe Ramallo, who came from Villaraigosa's city council staff, and Janelle Erickson, most recently the press deputy for Councilmember Wendy Greuel. Erickson handled some media work for Villaraigosa during the campaign.

Also: Rick Orlov's Monday column raised the idea that Villaraigosa might run for governor next year. There's no indication in the column that Villaraigosa is thinking that way...Orlov also reports that a member of the Northridge West neighborhood council, Jim Alger, took out papers to run for the Assembly seat that Keith Richman has to give up due to term limits...The Times has an advancer on the politics of today's Board of Education vote on a president to succeed Jose Huizar.
