Boston Globe editor Marty Baron shoots down talk that he would leave his #1 perch to become #2 at the L.A. Times. Baron's name had come up in the managing editor speculation around the Times newsroom because he is close to new LAT boss Dean Baquet and held a couple of senior positions at the Times (Business Editor, Orange County Edition editor) before moving on to the New York Times.
