L.A. County health director Thomas Garthwaite resigned today in a closed session of the Board of Supervisors. He has accepted a position as chief medical officer of Catholic Health East, a chain of thirty-one hospitals based in Pennsylvania, the Times story says. Now the Supes have to fix the King-Drew mess without him (or they get to, depending on your view.)
