Delgadillo with demonstratorsCity Attorney Rocky Delgadillo got a visit at home Friday from tenants facing eviction from the Lincoln Park Garden Apartments in Venice. The Venice Paper says that about thirty of the residents pitched a tent on Delgadillo's front lawn. Two hours later he invited the leaders in for a meeting. Afterwards, Delgadillo came outside for a chat and (apparently) a photo op. The Venice Paper has been all over the development flap that threatens the apartment complex.

Delgadillo, though, has a bigger image problem at the moment. The Times' Patrick McGreevy reported that Delgadillo's office offered to waive about $696,500 owed on a city loan by a client of campaign contributor, lawyer and alleged slumlord Lance Robbins. Delgadillo spokesman Jonathan Diamond denied any such offer was made. The Times had previously reported that "Delgadillo settled a city lawsuit against Robbins in 2002 for $1 million, even though the city originally said it was owed $3 million for delinquent utility bills." Delgadillo is seeking the Democratic nomination for state Attorney General against ex-governor Jerry Brown.
