Transparent yet fuzzy

The police commission voted to publish its decisions on use of force by LAPD officers, but without names. Union head Bob Baker of the Police Protective League applauds the move: "We believe that this provides the transparency that the public needs while at the same time it protects the individual officer from potential retaliation from criminal elements in the community and it protects the privacy of the officer."
