More cake typos *
A Times staffer emails that at yesterday's goodbye affair for features-floor editor John Scheibe, the golf-themed message on his cake referred to tea time instead of "tee time." Three's a trend:
Tour de France instead of "Tour de Force" for Kevin ThomasFaithfull instead of "faithful" for Eric Malnic and other Metroids
I'm not the best person to make fun of typos. But then, I don't employ scores of editors—they point out my errors for free.
* Reader email: (1:25 pm) With all the LAT departures, perhaps the cake decorators are overworked.
