Emilia Wright and Michael Wright, the daughter and son-in-law of Democratic Assembly member Karen Bass, died when their car went out of control on the southbound 405 freeway at La Tijera Boulevard. The vehicle hit a concrete pillar at high speed and burst into flames. Both victims were 23 years old. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which the LAFD blog reports occured Sunday morning.
