Daniel Cariaga, music critic, dies

Daniel Cariaga was the longtime classical music reviewer for the Los Angeles Times Calendar section. A note sent to the staff this afternoon said that he had been hospitalized with pneumonia when his heart gave out. His last review, of a performance by the Pacific Chorale, ran Oct. 24. The Times plans to run an obituary in the paper on Friday.
