School Me logoOn the same day that his publisher calls for a new Hispanic business strategy, Bob Sipchen's education column in the Times runs in both Spanish and English on his School Me! blog at LATimes.com. The timing is just coincidence, but Sipchen (the former editor of Current) is looking ahead: he arranged himself to have the column translated and posted. The column tells about what happened when uniformed school police were sent to block him from entering a Halloween celebration at Dominguez Elementary, despite state law and a district policy allowing him to attend as a reporter. So far the English post of the column has gotten a handful of comments, the Spanish version none.

Also at School Me!: Sandra Tsing Loh is now on board answering questions about the LAUSD.
