Geffen's offer: $2 billion

Tribune has neither accepted nor rejected David Geffen's all-cash offer last month to buy the Los Angeles Times, a source tells the paper's James Rainey.

Also: Rainey reports that ousted Times editor Dean Baquet is considering a return to the New York Times, where was national editor before coming to Los Angeles. The NYT's editor says, however, that no job has been offered.
