Catching up to a Rick Orlov story from the weekend (and Steve Hymon's in the Times), Controller Laura Chick says she is considering a return to the City Council when she is termed out of her current job in 2009. She would not run again from the West Valley, which she represented previously, but where she no longer lives. Her target is the 5th district, which covers parts of the Westside, Valley and Santa Monica Mountains. Incumbent Jack Weiss is expected to step aside in 2009 to run for City Attorney, and just to mess with your scorecard even more, current City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo is now said to be thinking of a run for Controller. By the way, Chick could only do this because Measure R passed, allowing councilmembers to serve three four-year terms instead of just two.
