Rocky 'takes responsibility' *

Yes, the wife of City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo was driving the city-owned GMC Yukon when it hit a pole in 2004. Yes, he'll pay for the repairs — he wrote a check for $1,222 today. More to come. Delgadillo said neither he nor his wife realized her license had been suspended at the time of the accident. He called his, um, dissembling in the face of reporter questions "a breach of the public trust."

Delgadillo told reporters at a news conference Monday afternoon that he realizes he should have spoken up earlier. He said, "That was a mistake." He says he mishandled the situation and he apologizes.
