What a fire photo

I've nothing to add on the wildfires that are burning homes by the hundreds across Southern California, but you've got to see — and appreciate — this photo on the Times website by Karen Tapia-Anderson. Stop and look. It shows eight of the dozen firefighters trapped by fast-moving flames on a ridge in Orange County. They've donned their fire shelters and are waiting to see if they make it.

Thankfully, they did. "We just remained calm," said one. After the firestorm blew past they were treated at the scene and refused a trip to the hospital.
