Observing Los Angeles

Langer's cult of pastrami grows

Reyes at Langer'sCouncilman Ed Reyes stopped in at 7th and Alvarado before noon to dedicate the intersection as Langer's Square. No dummy, he loaded up on the good stuff before making the return trip to City Hall. Ed Fuentes at View From a Loft covered the sign unveiling and surveyed the lunch-time culture of Langer's. Meanwhile, Mike at Franklin Avenue rightly chastises an out-of-town L.A. Times writer who whines that Los Angeles delis are defined by Jerry's [In]Famous.
