Calderon
President Felipe Calderón of Mexico was in Chicago and the Bay Area yesterday. Today he'll address the Legislature in Sacramento and visit the Napa Valley, then be greeted at LAX by Mayor Villaraigosa at 6:30 pm. Dinner follows at Getty House for Calderón, his wife Margarita Zavala and invited guests. It's the first official visit to L.A. for Calderón.

First thing in the morning: Villaraigosa and DWP chief David Nahai copter to the Owens Valley to oversee the seasonal release of water from the Los Angeles Aqueduct into the Lower Owens River. They will then float on the creek for a ways and make nice to local enviros. I'm heading that way too on assignment — but I'm driving — so posting will be light. No Morning Buzz today, and don't be shocked if the Times finally names its new editor.
