Case of the Nahai family DWP bill

Alan Mittelsteadt blogs that the Daily News and reporter Beth Barrett — he calls her "the Queen of Spoon-Fed Journalism" — got snookered into running DWP chief David Nahai's planted story on his water and power usage. "He gave her my story!," Mittelstaedt posts at Witness L.A. "For six weeks, I’ve been fighting the DWP’s general manager over his water and electric bills. He was telling Angelenos to conserve, but refused to show us whether he was a good role model or not." After Barrett's story ran this morning with details of Nahai's bills, Mittelstaedt had a little chat about it with DN city editor Judy Erickson.
