Burke gets an ethics gig

Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke was named today by House Democrats to the independent panel that is supposed to review conduct by members of Congress. But as the Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire blog observes, there isn't much expected of the group. Four of the members, including Burke, served in Congress. Plus the rules forbid the panel from making any lawmakers uncomfortable before the November election.
