Rick Orlov's column today reports that State Sen. Sheila Kuehl denies through an aide that she is looking to move into the city of Los Angeles and run for the 5th district council seat. That's the one Jack Weiss is giving up to run for City Attorney. The Kuehl aide says the only elected office she would be interested in is county Board of Supervisors, and then only if Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky leaves the board. Orlov also has school board members Marlene Canter and Julie Kornstein mulling their political futures.

Add politics: Andrew Ausanka-Crues left Friday as press spokesman for Councilwoman Janice Hahn. For now, chief of staff Courtney Chesla Torres takes the calls again.
