The perking up of Downtown has reached the point that Sen. Hillary Clinton is scheduled to appear at an Obama fundraiser at the hipster bar The Edison on Oct. 4. Special performances by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are on the bill. It's $500 for general admission to the reception, $2,500 for VIP access and co-hosts qualify by bringing in $10,000.

Also: Thirteen artists including Jasper Johns, Richard Serra, John Baldessari, Ed Ruscha and Frank Gehry have donated prints to an Obama funder Oct. 3 at the Gemini G.E.L. Art Gallery on Melrose. You have to cough up $20,000 for the set.
