Caruso appointed to Coliseum Commission *

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger named unwilling mayoral candidate Rick Caruso to the joint agency that oversees the Memorial Coliseum. Rick Orlov at the Sausage Factory says there's no word yet which other commissioner will be replaced. The state has three slots on the commission.

Also: The Sacramento Bee's Capitol Alert adds the detail that Caruso is a USC trustee and that David Israel is returning to the commission. Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger also appointed former San Diego Union-Tribune reporter Bill Ainsworth to be deputy director of corporate communications for the California State Lottery and Alex Traverso, communications director for Assemblyman Lloyd Levine, to be assistant deputy.
