Frantz becomes Senate investigator

Doug Frantz, one of the many senior Los Angeles Times editors to depart in recent years, has been named chief investigator for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee under new chairman Sen. John F. Kerry. Frantz, a close friend of Dean Baquet, was managing editor of the Times from 2005 to 2007, and before that was an accomplished investigative reporter at the LAT, New York Times and Chicago Tribune. Heres an LAT web story.
