Whitman makes it official

Former EBay Chief Executive Meg Whitman, who is 52, announced today that she'll be a Republican candidate for governor next year. Former Gov. Pete Wilson will be her campaign chairman. John Garamendi, Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown, San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and maybe even Sen. Dianne Feinstein. LAT, DN, Bee
