Well, that honeymoon's over. Twenty-two days into City Attorney Carmen Trutanich's term, campaign backer and ex-Controller Laura Chick called him a liar and a demagogue this morning on Doug McIntyre's KABC talk show. From Ron Kaye L.A.:

A reader supplied this transcript, confirmed by Mcintyre, regarding Trutanich's promise to reverse former City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo's legal opinion limiting the City Controller's authority to conduct audits of other city officials:

"The City Attorney lied, and is not a man of his word...he is a demagogue who will say anything to get elected, and then go back on his word... he stood next to me and lied to get my support."

Chick said she hopes the public will "see through this man, see that he's a demagogue who will say anything to get elected, but is not a man of his word."

Chick is now Gov. Schwarzenegger's inspector general for federal stimulus funds.

Update: Times onto it now too.

Fixed days: 22, not 23
