CA Watch readies story

California Watch, the new investigative reporting operation, will be coming out with its first piece tomorrow - an examination of waste and mismanagement in local homeland security grant spending across the state. More than two dozen newspapers, TV stations and news Web sites (profit and nonprofit) have signed up. That includes the Daily News, OC Register, Sac Bee, Voice of San Diego and La Opinion. Katches emails: "What is truly amazing is the thirst of newsrooms to buy this story from us. We’ve created three versions — one about 35 inches, one about 45 inches and one 105 inches. Papers can choose their version (Most are going with the 45 incher).”
