Cops form a new PAC

Traditional rivals the Los Angeles Police Protective League and the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs have "buried past differences and combined to create the California Law and Order Independent Expenditure Committee," Rick Orlov reports in the Daily News. The race for governor is the group's first target, but consultant Don Novey says they may get into other races.

Also from Orlov: Former candidate in the Valley (and Bill Clinton speechwriter) Andrei Cherny is now in Phoenix and planning to run for Arizona State Treasurer.
