LAT's new section name already taken...

latextramag.jpgI guess somebody should have checked the availability of LAT Extra, the name that Publisher Eddy Hartenstein wants to use for the new section-lite where L.A. Times readers will have to look for news that other papers put on the front page. It's the name, without the space, of a British magazine for latex fetishists. Tip came in from a couple of places, including The Wrap.

Noted: I was quoted in the weekend New York Times story on the LAT's new section and earlier deadlines, which are the way Hartenstein and his people have decided to cut costs and still keep the revenue from using Times presses to print the Wall Street Journal — which, of course, would not stand for the drastically eaerlier deadlines that LAT subscribers will now have to live with.
