Diane Watson rumors are true, she's retiring *

diane-watson-140.jpgEverybody's citing Democratic sources confirming that Rep. Diane Watson won't run for reelection to Congress this year. She will be holding a press conference in Los Angeles tomorrow. Former Assembly Speaker Karen Bass looks to be the lead anointed successor. (The California Target Book says Watson will endorse Bass.) The 33rd district went 87% for Obama in 2008. The Hill, MSNBC

*Thursday update: Watson says she's not yet endorsing any candidate to replace her. Stay tuned.
