Trutanich explains felony-level bail for supergraphic

City Attorney Carmen Trutanich tells KTLA's Eric Spillman that the $1 million bail he got for that sign misdemeanor at Hollywood and Highland was based on the public safety threat and the violator defying a warning. Trutanich denied playing politics with the arrest — "I'm not trying to make a big deal here" — and on that point I'm guessing Spillman had to suppress a laugh. Here's the video:
