Beutner on WWLA

Austin Beutner will be on "Which Way, L.A.?" on KCRW this evening at 7:30 p.m. to talk about his plans for serving awhile as interim head of the Department of Water and Power (while still doing the rest of his $1-a-year job as deputy mayor and jobs czar.) Warren Olney asks the former Wall Street banker "about his qualifications to run a public utility, how the DWP can be made accountable to the public that own it, his plans for converting to 'green energy' and what they might cost." Ron Kaye and Mary Leslie, president of the Los Angeles Business Council and a former DWP commissioner, are also on.

* On topic: Fox 11's John Schwada has been reporting that the recent DWP rate hikes are not temporary, as City Hall and some media have said.
