Villaraigosa

Five years ago in L.A.: Villaraigosa elected

avinowensvalley.jpgOn May 17, 2005, Antonio Villaraigosa defeated the one-term incumbent mayor, James Hahn, 59 percent to 41 percent. Villaraigosa actually got more votes when he lost to Hahn four years earlier, but as I posted in 2005, "Hahn's collapse was utter. More than 120,000 votes he received last time weren't there for him on Tuesday....Villaraigosa won at all income and education levels, among men and women, and at all age levels except 65 and older." Bill Rosendahl was also elected to the City Council that day.
