How L.A.'s food scene can be better, continued

saveur-march-2010.jpgIf you remember the minor dust-up in March over Saveur's Los Angeles issue — or even if you don't — you might like this. Rob Eshman, the Jewish Journal food blogger who dared to suggest that Los Angeles is not yet a great food city, continued the conversation with Evan Kleiman on this weekend's Good Food on KCRW. Back in March, Eshman had listed ten things that could be better about the L.A. food scene — stuff like more outdoor seating and later hours. After the objections hit the fan, he came back with nine more positively worded suggestions to satisfy those who prefer upbeat strokes over real observations.

Also on the show: Jonathan Gold reviewed Forage in Silver Lake, and Midtown Lunch blogger Zach Brooks recommended some restaurants.

Add food: Tonight's "60 Minutes" devoted a segment to chef Jose Andres and included footage of him and Anderson Cooper at The Bazaar in Beverly Hills. "The Bazaar is the only restaurant in Los Angeles with a four star review from the L.A. Times, and getting a reservation here is a bit like getting a seat next to Jack Nicholson at a Lakers game," Cooper says.

Add weekend radio: Eat-LA and "Off-Ramp" on KPCC explored restaurants that serve goat.
