Downtown stadium side meets with legislative leaders

The powwow with AEG representatives included Speaker John Perez, Senate leader Darrell Steinberg and Maria Elena Durazo, head of the L.A. County Federation of Labor, James Wagner reports in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. "They just talked about their hopes to build a stadium in L.A.," Perez spokeswoman Shannon Murphy said. AEG is apparently seeking exemption from environmental review to push the stadium proposal for city land occupied by part of the Convention Center beside Staples Center.
