The URL on an L.A. Times blog item about anti-Semitism in California is long and ugly as such web addresses often are, but this one is revealing because it contains the phrase "embargoed-until-9-am-tuesday." Roll over here. The item was posted by the Times at 8:12 a.m.

* Update: I'm told the Anti-Defamation League, which issued the release, lifted the embargo by publishing the release on its website. That's when the Times published.

The news: The release from the Anti-Defamation League says "The number of anti-Semitic incidents increased 22 percent in California in 2009, largely due to the increase in greater Los Angeles."
