Jay Carson leaving Villaraigosa staff *

Chief Deputy Mayor Jay Carson, who joined the Villaraigosa Administration last September and oversaw a bunch of staff turnover, said today he will resign his $194,000-a-year post at the end of the month. "The mayor brought me in to effect specific change in his office. I worked as hard as I could at his direction to make that change, and I’m proud of the job that I did,” said Carson, a former press secretary in the Hillary Rodham Clinton presidential campaign. * Update: Carson will join the board of Film L.A. and continue to advise the mayor.
