Sen. Rod Wright indicted over residency, pleads not guilty

State Sen. Roderick Wright, the Democrat representing Inglewood and environs, pleaded not guilty today to eight felony charges that he lived outside his district and voted fraudulently. He was indicted Monday and the indictment was unsealed today. Wright is due back in Los Angeles Superior Court Oct. 8. According to the District Attorney's office, Wright claimed he lives in an apartment in Inglewood, which is within his 25th District, but has actually lived since 2000 in Baldwin Hills, in the 26th state Senate district. His website's bio calls Wright "a home and business owner in the city of Inglewood where he remains active in community
and civic affairs.'' AP, LAT
