KCRW hires host from 'Marketplace'

Steve Chiotakis, the host of "Marketplace Morning Report" on public radio since 2008, will shift west and later in the day as the afternoon news anchor on KCRW. He will handle the local side of NPR's "All Things Considered" from 3 to 7 p.m. Lisa Napoli, who has been holding the anchor chair for the past few months, will move over to cultural correspondent and other hosting duties for KCRW, the station says. "The best thing about KCRW is the talented people who help us discover what's important and compelling," says general manager Jennifer Ferro. "Steve possesses the perfect blend of intelligence, personality and curiosity for Los Angeles and KCRW.”

KCRW has been on a hiring binge lately. Recent additions include Saul Gonzalez as morning news producer, Darrell Satzman as associate news producer, Caitlin Shamberg as a "To The Point" and social-media producer, Anna Scott as a TTP and "Which Way, L.A.?" producer, Gillian Ferguson as "Good Food" producer and Jenny Radelet as producer of "The Treatment."

More 'To The Point:' Denise Hamilton, the editor of "L.A. Noir" and an LA Observed contributor, guested on today's "TTP" to talk with Warren Olney about the noir angle to the recent arson spree.
