Oops o' the day *

Unfortunate extra letter on page A12 in the Las Vegas sheriff story in some print editions of today's Los Angeles Times. It was fixed in my print copy, but not in those of a couple of LA Observed readers who sent it in. See it bigger at calamityhane at Instagram.

* Late afternoon update: Assistant managing editor Henry Fuhrmann (he's in charge of the copy desks) emails that a last-minute tweak in the story inadvertently inserted the typo. "The reporter and assigning editor were innocent on this one," he writes. "Needless to say, my folks on the copy desk feel awful about what happened."
