KPCC drops Patt Morrison show, expands Brand and Martinez

PattMorrison-kpcc.pngThe other shoes have fallen at KPCC from the addition of A Martinez as co-host with Madeleine Brand in the morning. That show, as originally intended, will expand to two hours on Sept. 10, filling a 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. time slot. Larry Mantle's "Airtalk" will shift to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The big news is that the station will drop Patt Morrison's two-hour afternoon show after six years and fill those hours with BBC Newshour and The World.

All the station says about Morrison is that VP Russ Stanton "told staff that 'I am very pleased to report that Patt will be shifting into a new role here that draws on her unique experience and style.'" No details on that role. Stanton was Morrison's former boss at the Los Angeles Times.
