LA News Group gets new president and publisher

ron-hasse-lang.jpgRon Hasse, a former director of circulation and operations at the Daily News, on Thursday was named the new president and publisher of the Los Angeles News Group. That puts him in charge of the Daily News and the other papers in the group. He replaces Jack Klunder, who was not mentioned in a note that went out to the newsrooms. Hasse is 46, lives in Northridge, and had previously been director of sales and marketing at the Los Angeles Times. Most recently he was LANG's senior vice president of business operations. Daily News story

Klunder had been the group's president and publisher since February 2012. The note sent to staffers is short and I guess you could say sweet.

LANG Employees:

I want to announce to you that Ron Hasse, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for Los Angeles Newspaper Group, is being named President of LANG and Publisher of the LANG publications effective immediately, including responsibility for all nine LANG newspapers and associated websites and digital products.  As you know, Ron has several years of experience with LANG, having served in his current role for over a year, following his previous assignment as Vice President of Circulation.  This is in recognition of Ron’s strong leadership and successful management track record.
