This one could get nasty. The El Segundo-based toymaker maintains that Bratz dolls were originally created by a designer who had been working for Mattel at the time. He later went to work for Van Nuys-based MGA Entertainment prior to the launch of Bratz. The dispute has been going on a while, but in documents filed today in U.S. District Court, Mattel claims to have obtained the original drawings. The Bratz dolls wound up taking a big chunk out of Barbie sales. The only story I've seen is from the WSJ.
