Even the NY Post is left to calling it a rumor. But it's out there - and according to the Post anyway, it's being drummed by Imus' former radio station, WFAN. The buzz/rumble/chatter has the shock jock coming back by the fall. "When we return to our regular schedule this September, I hope the team will once again be complete," said Mike Francesa of "Mike and the Mad Dog." The Post reports that Imus has received offers from other stations - that's been around a while - but he can't accept anything until his legal battle with WFAN owner CBS is resolved. In case you haven't been following, the Imus camp keeps threatening to sue CBS Radio for violating terms of his contract, while CBS has prepared a countersuit. But here's the thing: WFAN hasn't replaced Imus, and there appears to be no plans to do so (a bunch of fill-ins over the past two months have not worked out). None of this makes any sense, of course, which is why it makes such perfect sense. One thing that won't happen is a return to MSNBC.

Times on the opening of KPCC's new studios in Pasadena says that next up for the NPR station is "a major expansion that its board of trustees hopes will make KPCC the hub of a regional constellation of public radio stations and a major source of news and information in Southern California."
