A three-year contract was finalized today, believed to be worth around $14.5 million. "Having grown up in Brooklyn, I have a great understanding of the history of the Dodger organization and I am committed to bringing a world championship back to Los Angeles," Torre said in a statement (but does he understand the McCourt organization?). "I consider it an honor to be a part of this organization, which is one of the most storied franchises in all of sports." They'll have a news conference on Monday at Dodger Stadium. No word yet on his coaching staff - he wants to bring on Don Mattingly and perhaps Larry Bowa. (LAT)
