The LAT and OC Register receive overall excellence awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. The only other local prize goes to Seth Lubove and Daniel Taub in Bloomberg's L.A. bureau for their piece on the mortgage brokerage business (David Evans and Richard Tomlinson are also listed in the SABEW release).
