American is re-inspecting the bundling of wires in its fleet of 300 MD-80s. All told, 500 flights were canceled today - including 15 out of LAX - and more are expected to be cancelled tomorrow. Planes were pulled out of service this afternoon. American, along with Southwest, Delta and United, have been doing all kinds of maintenance inspections in order to fully comply with FAA regulations.(AP, LAT)
