Included in the deal is USC University Hospital - not to be confused with County-USC Medical Center - and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. In 2006, the school had filed suit to end its relationship with Tenet, and then the hospital operator filed a counterclaim to seek monetary damages. The sale is a way of resolving the lawsuits. Terms are still being worked out, and it's not known how the hospitals will be administered after the sale. University Hospital is staffed by the faculty of USC's Keck School of Medicine. (LABJ)
