New milestone for gas

For the first time ever, the average price of self-serve regular in the L.A. area crossed the $4 mark - $4.055 to be precise, according to the government's latest survey. That's up nearly a dime from the previous week – not exactly a shock to anyone filling up over the weekend. The good news is that oil prices have been falling this week - they were at $126.86 a barrel in this morning's trading - and some analysts believe we've seen the worst of the run-ups. That's assuming there isn't a hurricane that messes of refinery production and with it, supplies.

L.A. Gas Prices
5/26 - $4.055
5/19 - $3.916
5/12 - $3.898
5/5 - $3.892
4/28 - $3.883
4/21 - $3.841
