Among 38 incumbent House members in upcoming races that are rated as a "toss-up" or a "lean" by the Swing State Project, just 8 voted for the bailout. Thirty voted against. Also, posts Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight, 23 of 26 House members not running for re-election (almost all Republicans) voted in favor of the bill. What's galling about this is the fact that those scared ....-less lawmakers are cloaking themselves under the cover of constituent opposition to the plan. Does anyone really believe those constituents had the slightest understanding of the plan - or of the consequences of not passing it? This is mind-blowing.
