The Dow is down by more than 100 points in the early minutes of trading. Asian markets were battered while European markets fared a bit better. Meanwhile, there's growing speculation that the Fed will cut interest rates this morning, which if nothing else would provide a little psychological comfort. No new word on the fate of AIG.
