Apple fighting Prop 8

The company is contributing $100,000 to defeat the ballot measure that would define marriage as only between a man and a woman. Also contributing to the "No on 8" campaign are Google founders Sergey Brin ($100,000) and Larry Page ($40,000). Among other big contributors: George Lucas ($50,000), Lucasfilm ($50,000), actor T.R. Knight of "Grey's Anatomy" ($100,000), and Monica Rosenthal, wife of "Everybody Loves Raymond" executive producer Phil Rosenthal ($25,000). Most polls show a very tight race. (LAT, Mercury News)
