This time, it's coming from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who wants a special session of the Legislature to consider a 90-day ban on foreclosures. Among his other ideas: reducing monthly payments by lowering interest rates, extending mortgage terms, and delaying some principal payments. Earlier in the year, the governor vetoed three bills related to the home-loan industry. Foreclosure moratoriums of various sorts have been proposed by the federal government and by lenders - to limited effect thus far. (OC Register)
